I am a postdoctoral research fellow with the Computation Brain Imaging group at the Centre for Sleep and Cognition, National University of Singapore, under the supervision of A/Prof Thomas Yeo. In addition, I am conferred the position of Adjunct Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
I was a Scientia PhD Scholar and a Tan Kah Kee Postgraduate Scholar at UNSW, Department of Psychiatry under the supervision of Scientia Professor of Neuropsychiatry Perminder Sachdev. During which, I was interested in elucidating foundational mechanisms underlying genetic and environmental influences on functional brain networks in ageing.
In addition, I was the science lead in the company, Playwell Gamification, which is based in the United States of America. This was a gamification-based platform to facilitate efficient behaviour change for patients and survivors of brain tumours.
In 2016, I was a visiting scholar at the University of California, San Francisco in the Memory and Aging Center, supervised by A. W. and Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Professor in Neurology, Bruce Miller and Associate Professor of Neurology, Suzee Lee. Using seed-based resting sate functional neuroimaging, I uncovered clinical dementia states. I was previously also a research scholar at the Singapore Bioimaging Consortium, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in the lab of Edward George Robins and Joanes Grandjean, where I studied dysfunctions in dopaminergic circuitry in Parkinson’s diseases with optogenetic intervention. Prior to this, I studied with Professor Nagaendran Kandiah at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore to understand clinical structure function roles in Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
I received my B.S. Degree in Psychology from James Cook University in 2015.
